Cheeky The Movie

As Jackie The Musical begins its tour, surely it can't be long before our favourite comic makes the transition into other artistic realms. Personally, I see it as a film rather than a stage production, and certainly not an animation - I envisage that the likeness of the characters could be achieved with suitable costumes and prosthetics.

The script would of course be by Willie Cook, and Frank McDiarmid would be artistic director.

Here's my suggestion for the actors who would portray the toothy funster and his pals.

Cheeky - Lee Mack
Snail - Ronnie Corbett
Cheeky's Dad - Ray Winstone
Cheeky's Mum - Helen Mirren
Posh Claude - Jimmy Carr
Walter Wurx - Michael McIntyre
Doctor Braincell - Ken Dodd
Auntie Daisy - Judi Dench

There would have to be some US stars to ensure box office success across the world, so I've cast the following parts with that in mind

Louise - Scarlett Johansson
Teacher - Sylvester Stallone
Vicar - Brad Pitt

I'm struggling to cast Lily Pop - any suggestions?

  1. Lily pop can be played by herself..there is only one Lily :)

  2. Claude always confused me: I was never sure if he and his family were living in near penury, or the reverse - filthy rich and yet living like paupers! Confusing...

    1. Indeed. Maybe one day I will go back and expand upon my rather inadequate profile of Claude - I didn't really know what I was trying to do in the early days of this blog (many would say I still don't!).

  3. The third alternative was that Claude’s family were insufferable snobs but it was never decided which: ragged-arsed, tight-fisted or toffee-nosed. The underpinning gag was the same – Cheeky subjecting Claude to opprobrium and Claude being shown up. Bit more consistency would’ve been nice.
